NEW MET COMMISSIONER FOR LONDON


London’s new Metropolitan Police Commissioner Bernard Hogan-Howe, 53, has taken office, announcing a zero tolerance policy to knife and gun crime in the capital and the return of a culture where criminals ‘fear the police’. Hogan-Howe, who is the 26th person to hold the post and is now the most senior police chief in the UK, says he will cut crime, cut costs, and continue to promote ‘transparency, humility and integrity’ in the force.
