16 June-18 September. Recognised as the most prestigious portrait competition in the world, for 32 years the annual BP Portrait Award has promoted the best in international contemporary portrait painting, launching the careers of many well known artists.
The exhibition presents a variety of styles from artists of all ages and nationalities. This year’s show features 55 works selected from 2,372 entries, among them the four shortlisted artists: Ian Cumberland, Wim Heldens, Sertan Saltan and Louis Smith.
For the second year the exhibition will be complemented by the Next Generation project, giving opportunities for young people aged 14-19 to enter their work.
